Industrial Finishes & Systems is a proud supporter of many activities and organizations within the local communities we serve. Our employees and customers live and work in vibrant neighborhoods and small towns across America, and it’s important to us to give back.
In Salem, Oregon, the Willamette Humane Society approached us with a request to help that seemed perfectly in line with “Car Guys.” To help raise funds (and awareness) for their organization, the Willamette Humane Society decided to refurbish a 1974 Volkswagen Super Beetle for raffle. Once a donor car was identified, a dedicated group of businesses and individuals set to work gathering resources and restoring the car.
The main sponsor of the raffle is Killer’s Pest Elimination, who jokingly called the Super Beetle “the only bug they don’t kill.” The car was donated by Kevin and Lisa Erickson. In addition to Industrial Finishes, sponsors include Action Auto Body (paint and body), Hear No Evil (stereo and speakers), Advanced Automotive (brakes), State Auto Glass (window replacement), Discount Import Parts (interior), and Battery X-Change (battery).
“Sunshine” was named by Willamette Humane Society’s Facebook followers, and is being returned to its gorgeous, original yellow. The car will be available for raffle, and tickets are $10 each or 6 for $50. Only three thousand will be sold. The winner will be chosen Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Willamette Humane Society. Need not be present to win, but Sunshine must be picked up by Friday, November 11.
Tickets will be available online through whs4pets.org. Purchaser must be in Oregon to buy tickets.
Look for “Sunshine” to make appearances at local events in the surrounding Salem area throughout the summer months.
